The New Galleria by Grassi Pietre: An Experiential Space for Architects and Designers
Grassi Pietre opens its new Galleria, a space designed to guide professionals through an immersive and sensory experience — an environment where material interacts with light, and Vicenza Stone takes center stage in a journey that blends knowledge with creative vision.
The result of a careful and respectful restoration of a former industrial building, the Galleria spans over two thousand square meters and hosts the most comprehensive collection of Vicenza Stone, showcasing all its color variations — from the well-known to the rarest — alongside marbles, agglomerates, and other materials masterfully crafted by the company over five generations.
The Galleria unfolds as an immersive and experiential path to discover Vicenza Stone.
The journey begins with an informal reception area, where a high meeting table stands on a platform of Gray Palladio stone, laid on adjustable supports to simulate an outdoor setting — a direct reference to the ideal use of this material. A meticulously curated sample display presents a selection of materials processed by Grassi Pietre over the years. Slabs appear along the path as large material backdrops — to observe, touch, and imagine — sparking inspiration and a tangible connection with the raw material.
Pacing the path are two micro-architectures designed by Debiasi Sandri studio, offering poetic suggestions on how stone can authentically and contemporarily shape space.
In the first setting, clad in Vicenza Stone Perla Blu , visitors enter an austere, elemental space where a cylindrical, monolithic freestanding washbasin in Belgian blue stone is lit from above by a suspended light source.
In the second setting, a wall featuring the Gradient pattern in Bianco Avorio (from the Accenti collection) frames a fountain in Vicenza Stone Giallo Dorato , where CNC-machined surfaces contrast with raw finishes. Nearby, a sculptural solid stone element and a cluster of natural greenery evoke a moment of contemplation — an invitation to pause, observe, and reflect.
Completing the Galleria is a glass-walled meeting room designed by Debiasi Sandri, with a rationalist aesthetic: flooring and wall cladding in Grigio Alpi stone harmonize with black oak furnishings, creating a focused yet open environment conceived for design dialogue between professionals and Grassi Pietre specialists.
Throughout the space, touches of greenery enhance the immersive atmosphere, making the environment more welcoming and deeply connected to nature.
